About MAHI International
MAHI International is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization established in 2004 under the leadership of John Schroer. MAHI is based in Pohnpei, Micronesia, the largest island and home of the capital city of Palikir. Committed to serving the individuals and communities throughout the Pacific Island region, MAHI's vision is to increase the quality of life of the people in undeveloped communities. Focusing primarily in Micronesia, MAHI works largely on improving the healthcare and education throughout these islands, while training local Micronesian leaders. In approaching their work, MAHI employs the approach of "T.E.A.M.":
Teaching... children, adults, and entire communities.
Empowering... encouraging, and equipping local Micronesian leaders.
Activating... personal and communal economic capabilities.
Mentoring... and modeling a temperate lifestyle of proper exercise, nutrition, goodhealth and education.
